Bevy of fines for San Miguel, Ginebra players

The PBA has fined a number of San Miguel Beermen and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel players for the altercations in Game Two of the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup Finals last Sunday.

The league made the announcement through its official social media accounts, Tuesday afternoon.

Former league MVP Arwind Santos and Puerto Rican reinforcement Renaldo Balkman will have to pay PHP 5,000 each for the flagrant foul penalty one infractions they both acquired.

Santos was originally called for a flagrant foul penalty two for decking Ginebra guard Scottie Thompson to the ground by hitting the latter on the chest, but it was downgraded.

San Miguel floor general Chris Ross has been slapped with a PHP 2,600 fine for the two technical fouls he incurred – one for continuous complaining, and another one for taunting.

Gin Kings Joe Devance and Kevin Ferrer will have to dish out PHP 1,000 each for the technical fouls they were called for. The forwards’ technical fouls were due to second motions.

Game Three of the best-of-seven series will be on Wednesday, August 1, 7:00 PM at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
