Belencion outduels Doligon as iWalk scores come-from-behind win against Nailtalk

IWalk recharged itself in the second half to come back from a 23-point deficit and score a 113-103 win over Nailtalk-St. Dominic Savio, Thursday in the 2019 PBA D-League Second Conference at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

JP Belencion waxed hot, going 11-of-19 from downtown to lead the Chargers with 38 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

His hot streak in the second half enabled iWalk to fight its way back from a 69-46 deficit, with his big treys in the last four minutes helping his side create the breathing room it needed to pull off the back-to-back victory.

Allan Mangahas chimed in 18 points, five assists, three steals, and two rebounds. Ryusei Koga and Wowie Escosio both scored 12.

“Ang hirap humabol,” sighed coach Jonas Villanueva, as his side improved to 2-1 in Group A. “Sabi ko na lang sa kanila, let’s speed up the game and get shots from the outside.”

iWalk shot 17-of-50 from beyond the arc, to stymie Nailtalk-Savio, which suffered its fourth straight defeat.

Mark Doligon led the Unicorns with 32 points and four rebounds. Meanwhile, Cameroonian bog man Rudolph Mienlam scattered 22 points, 32 boards, five assists, two steals, and two blocks in the defeat.
