BEBOB: Blue Eagles band together for Baldwin

Though outnumbered, the Blue Eagles of Ateneo will stand as one for their head coach Tab Baldwin.

At 6:00 PM on Wednesday evening, past and present members of Ateneo’s men’s basketball team went to social media.

And all of them posted a line from William Shakespeare’s Henry V.

“We few, We happy few, We Band Of Brothers. For He today that sheds his blood for me shall be my brother. #BEBOB”

The line is part of the St Crispin’s Day Speech which was delivered King Henry V in the play, urging his troops to not think about how outnumbered they were against the French.

BEBOB, meanwhile, stands for Blue Eagles, Band of Brothers — the battle cry of Ateneo since Baldwin took over the program in 2016.

Leading the Blue Eagles who posted the battle cry on social media were Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go, Mike Nieto, SJ Belangel, William Navarro, Gian Mamuyac, and Tyler Tio.

Also posting the spiels were Adrian Wong, Anton Asistio, Dave Ildefonso, Jolo Mendoza, Kyle Ong, JC Fetalvero, Bryan Andrade, Jacob Lao, Jason Credo, Patrick Maagdenberg, and Matthew Daves.

Baldwin was Gilas Pilipinas’ former head coach.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Al Panlilio shed light on what transpired early this year that led to Baldwin allegedly “stepping down” from his post in an interview with SEAG Network last Monday.
