Beach Volleyball Playoffs: NU completes their return to the finals with another victory over Adamson
NU was on a mission to prove that their only loss during the elimination round was a fluke when they successfully obliterated a clueless Adamson team.
Unlike their previous match, Adamson did a better job competing against NU this time. Unfortunately, NU was just too good and too strong for the Adamson team. From the beginning of the 1st set, NU set the pace by going on an early 4 – 3 lead. They were able to steadily increase the lead slowly thanks to powerful spikes from Tipay that Adamson was not able to deflect. With a 4-pt lead at 16 – 12, it was clear that NU meant business as they only allowed Adamson to score 4 more points. NU took the 1st set, 21 – 16. Adamson was able to maintain a better pace during the 2nd set as they were able to tie the game at 7 all. NU was again able to take the lead, but Adamson was right behind them at the 11 – 10 mark. This would be as close as Adamson would get to their opponents as NU would blitz them with powerful spikes and successful blocks to take a 20 – 15 lead. Adamson would score only 1 more point as they would fall, 21 – 16.
With this win, NU secures their spot in the finals to play a best of three against UST. NU was the only team to beat UST during the elimination round.
