Joshua Sinclair had a breakout performance as the Philippines U18 national team romped past host squad Indonesia, 113-73 Wednesday in the 2016 SEABA U18 Championship in Medan, Indonesia.
Sinclair scored 25 points for the nationals, the highest output for any member of the Batang Gilas squad in the tournament so far, shooting 12-for-13 from the field. He added 10 rebounds and four assists in the blow-out win.
The Philippines used a 66-39 second half to emerge victorious and set up a gold medal duel against Thailand. Both also qualify for the 2016 FIBA Asia U18 Championship later this year.
Indonesia and Malaysia shall face each other in the third place battle, wherein the final slot in the Asian joust is at stake.
Captain Jolo Mendoza contributed 14 points while Jonas Tibayan had 13 points and eight rebounds. The nationals scored a whopping 43 turnover points off 24 Indonesia miscues.
No player logged more than 25:02 and all were able to score in the easy win. The team also had 25 assists and shot 10-for-28 from three-point area.
