Baser Amer has found a new home.
The seasoned point guard is headed to NLEX, signing a deal with the team on Monday evening during the third day of the team’s four-day camp at Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna.
Present at the signing were were key figures from the NLEX organization, including President Jose Luigi L. Bautista, Team Governor Ronald Dulatre, Team Manager Larry Fonacier, and Head Coach Frankie Lim.
Amer, a nine-year veteran, joins the NLEX Road Warriors after recently parting ways with Blackwater early this month.
His addition to the NLEX roster not only strengthens the team’s backcourt but also brings a sense of familiarity, as it marks a homecoming for Amer.
Amer expressed his excitement about returning to NLEX, stating, “Masaya ako na makasama sila Coach Frankie (Lim) at mga iba pang Bedista dito sa NLEX. Gagawin ko ang best ko para makuha namin yung championship.”
Amer’s ties with NLEX go beyond this recent signing, as he previously played for the team in the PBA D-League, where he played a pivotal role in steering the Road Warriors to three championships.
Besides Amer and Lim, other Red Lions in the NLEX camp are Robert Bolick, Borgie Hermida, Dave Marcelo, Jake Pascual, and Anthony Semerad.
