For the past few months, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel players have been training individually as the PBA has barred teams from practicing together due to the enhanced community quarantine Manila is under.
Wednesday afternoon, the reigning Governors’ Cup champions reunited for a good cause.
Led by head coach Tim Cone and former league MVP Mark Caguioa, the team went to San Miguel Corporation’s head office in Ortigas, Pasig, to pack N95 masks, which will be distributed to 16 hospitals in the metro.
This is part of San Miguel’s relief operations, which saw the conglomerate purchase over 10,000 personal protective equipment that was manufactured locally.
“We stay committed to helping ease the strain on our medical system and protecting our medical health workers,” SMC president Ramon S. Ang said.
Joining Cone and Caguioa were assistant coaches Richard Del Rosario, Olsen Racela, Raymond Rodriguez, and Freddie Abuda; and players LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Aljon Mariano, Prince Caperal, Jared Dillinger, Joe Devance, Jeff Chan, Art Dela Cruz, Jerrick Balanza, Kent Salado, Arvin Tolentino, and Raymond Aguilar.
