The Bali Pure Purest Water Defenders showed spectacular form, whipping the hapless Coast Guard Lady Dolphins in straight sets 25-12, 25-8, 25-9 to end their respective 13th Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference elimination round campaigns at the PhilSports Arena.
Bali Pure rampaged through each set, taking early leads and keeping the Lady Dolphins from even sniffing a comeback.
“I felt that our team played really well but at the same time I don’t think Coast Guard was a hundred percent into the game. Still, we’re really happy with how we played and I hope we can take this into semis,” said team captain, American setter Kaylee Manns.
Bali Pure open hitters import Katherine Morell and Ateneo standout Dzi Gervacio did most of the scoring, logging 20 and 13 points, respectively. All off Bali Pure’s active players were fielded and scored at least a point.
“In terms of peaking, I think we’re still working on a lot of things. We can still improve and I hope we can keep playing better into the semifinals,” Manns added.
From their scoring skills, Coast Guard managed just 13 points. Bali Pure spotted them 16 errors. Jane Maderazo led the Lady Dolphins with just three points.
Bali Pure momentarily holds the third seed and could climb as high as second depending on the result of the UST-Pocari Sweat tiff.
The semifinals begin on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.
