Bacolod stays alive with Pagadian City whipping in Chooks 3×3 Leg 2

CALAMBA, LAGUNA — Bacolod-Master Sardines vented their ire on Pagadian City Rocky Sports, taking a dominant 22-12 (8:35) win to stay alive in Pool D of the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM Leg Two, Friday at INSPIRE Academy.

Anton Asistio fired seven points in the contest while burly big man Alfred Batino had seven markers as well.

“Actually mas disappointed kami sa loss kanina. We thought we had it in the bag. We made sure to use Alfred dahil siya yung advantage namin,” said Asistio about 21-17 (8:02) loss to Big Boss Cement-Porac earlier in the day.

Pagadian City takes on Porac to determine who will advance in the playoffs of this tournament that is FIBA 3×3-endorsed.

The Sarangani Marlins, Pasig-Sta. Lucia Realtors, and Bicol-PAXFUL 3×3 Pro advanced to the quarterfinals by eliminating their respective opponents as well.

Behind Pamboy Raymundo, Sarangani knocked out Palayan City, 21-13 (5:04), in Pool A.

On the other hand, Pasig booted out Petra Cement-Roxas City, 21-18 (7:25), in Pool B while Bicol eliminated the Zamboanga Valientes MLV, 21-19 (8:44), in Pool C.

Palayan lost to Nueva Ecija, 20-21 (5:51); Roxas fell to Zamboanga City, 18-21 (6:47); and Zamboanga Peninsula bowed to Butuan City (7:50), earlier in the day.

The league also announced that the fastest games of each leg will take home P10,000 for the winners.

Four more elimination round games and the playoffs that has P100,000 waiting for the champion team are still to take place as of publishing.
