Kim Aurin was nowhere to be found during University of Perpetual Help System DALTA’s match against Colegio de San Juan de Letran on Tuesday.
Although he did not disclose the main reason, the Altas head coach Myk Saguiguit said Aurin violated a team protocol prior to the game.
“Meron siya naviolate na team protocol namin. Actually hindi health protocol, ayoko muna mag-elaborate kasi gusto kong malaman pa ‘pag pinatawag ako. Malaman ko pa,” said Saguiguit.
“Kasi ngayon, hindi ko muna pinapakielamanan kasi gusto ko mag-focus sa game. Baka bukas meron na. ‘Yan ‘yung penalty niya, hindi siya makalaro ngayon against Letran pero hindi ko alam kung ano pa ‘yung mga susunod,” he added.
“Yes, may na-violate siyang team rule. Oo, (nirereview ng management).”
Perpetual felt the absence of their leading scorer as they absorbed a 74-59 beatdown against the Knights while also getting their third-game losing streak in the process.
In the first round, Aurin averaged a team-high 13.75 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in eight games.
The last time the veteran forward missed a game was in their 61-57 win against San Sebastian College-Recoletos last October 1.
With no timetable for his return, Perpetual, who currently sits at the seventh spot (4-6), will need to double their effort to make the much-needed push for the final four spot.
