Assessment:
Slim pickings here. I don’t know what to make of Arellano since they are severely gutted (Caperal, Pinto, Agovido, Enriquez, Ciriacruz). They’ll have an extremely difficult time making a return to the finals that’s for sure.
It doesn’t help their cause that Zachary Nicholls has been a major flop and can’t even break the five-point plateau. I mean, what are those 4.9 measly points for man?! You gotta at least get eight, grab four rebounds and freaking shoot at least 39% from the arc. And you can’t do any of those?
Jio Jalalon and Dioncee Holts would be terribly gassed by the time they dragged the sorry collection called a line-up to another Final Four finish. There’s only so much two men can do. And we aren’t definitely talking about that ’02 Lakers title team.
“I’ve played for the country before and the experience of wearing a uniform bearing our flag helped me to become a better player,” said Codinera of Jalalon. “And I know it will make him a better player.” He needs to turn it up several notches to make up for the loss of John Pinto, who joined the pro ranks, and sixth man Keith Agovida who provided a combined 24.1ppg, 10rpg, 7.2apg.
