Coming off a tough loss against Omega yesterday, RSG PH vented its ire on ECHO with a 2-1 reverse sweep in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Saturday evening.
The victory put RSG PH (2-1) at the fourth spot tied with Omega Esports (1-2) with four points apiece.
With ECHO taking Game One, RSG PH put on a massive comeback in Game Two, proving that they can also shine in the late game.
The team actually started the match strong, however, ECHO managed to crawl back into contention all thanks to a crucial Lord steal from Hadess’ Ling. ECHO took another Lord for their side in the 23:30-minute mark, but it was not enough to close out a defiant RSG PH squad.
An excellent Divine Judgement from Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog’s Kaja on Bennyqt’s Ruby entering the 27-minute mark spelled all the difference for RSG.
Arvie “Aqua” Calderon took the SMART 5G MVP in Game Two with six kills, two deaths, and 17 assists on his Saber in the 27-14 win. The match lasted for 28 minutes and 34 seconds.
“Honestly sa Game Two, we are really lugi especially sa late game because Harley, Kaja, and Saber, they are puro pick off heroes. And then early game kami lang because of the hero power,” said RSG PH coach Brian “Panda” Lim. “Pero when it comes to big objectives like five-on-five clash, it really gets hard.”
In the all-important Game Three, RSG PH pulled off a surprise Lylia pick which gave ECHO a plethora of problems in the match.
That seemed to have been enough, as ECHO had no clear answer to the zoning capabilities of Aqua (Lylia). He finished with a clean 1-0-6 kill-death-assist tally in Game Three.
Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s Roger, who had the map all for himself in the match, was named the SMART 5G MVP. He had two kills and nine assists without a single death in the 11-4 win which lasted for 16 minutes and 55 seconds.
ECHO went full blast late in Game One to take the early 1-0 advantage over RSG PH.
The team was on defensive mode in the early goings of the match, letting Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales’ Natan and Mark “Hadess” Lazaro’s Aldous scale up and take over later on. The game plan definitely worked for the squad, taking the low-scoring 7-5 victory.
Bennyqt starred in the win, taking the SMART 5G MVP with four kills and one assist without a single death in the match that lasted for 19 minutes and one second.
ECHO remained at the second spot with seven points and a 2-2 win-loss standing.
RSG PH looks to build its momentum against Nexplay EVOS next week, Friday at 6:00 PM while ECHO will face defending champion Blacklist International tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
