SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA — La Union and Pampanga go for a 2-1 lead in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 3 Black Arrow Express-President’s Cup on Monday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
Game Three of the best-of-five championship series is scheduled at 6 p.m.
The PAOwer tied the series last Saturday following an 84-80 victory over the Delta in Game Two, with Jayson Apolonio leading his team to the victory.
Apolonio had 17 points, seven rebounds, and four steals for La Union. He also scored a short jumper to break an 80-80 deadlock late in the game.
Coach Louie Aquino La Union also made 12 triples in the match. Meanwhile, Rommel Doliente converted four to contribute to the PAOwer’s performance in Game Three.
Roman Gatchallan also added 15 markers for the PAOwer, while Doliente chipped in 12 points in the victory.
“Sinabi ni coach dapat doble effort,” said Apolonio.
“Kitang-kita talaga na dehadong-dehado kami. Sabi ni coach, kung gusto niyo magpatayan, gawin niyo.”
Dexter Maiquez led the Delta with 25 points. On the other hand, Michael Juico and Levi Hernandez were limited to five and four points respectively.
