Anton Asistio of Ateneo and Joshua Torralba of La Salle are looking to make the leap to the big league, as the two are joining the upcoming 2021 PBA Rookie Draft.
Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management’s Marvin Espiritu confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Asistio, 25, is a 5-foot-10 floor general who has stood out in both the 5-on-5 and 3×3 game.
Asistio played his collegiate career in Ateneo, helping the Blue Eagles win the UAAP Season 80 and 81 crowns. He averaged 7.3 points on 30-percent shooting from downtown in his final year.
He would then play for MPBL clubs Bataan and Zamboanga during the Chooks-to-Go Lakan Season. Asistio averaged 8.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 12 games played with the Risers, while norming 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 19 games for the Family’s Brand Sardines-backed team.
Asistio is also the 49th-ranked 3×3 player in the country, having played for Bataan and Bacolod in Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3.
On the other hand, Torralba, 26, is a 6-foot-2 combo guard.
Torralba started his collegiate career with Emilio Aguinaldo College in NCAA Season 87. He would transfer to La Salle and play in UAAP Season 78.
He left the country in 2016 to finish his studies in the States.
Torralba returned last year after signing with MPBL club Makati. There, he averaged 10.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 31 games played.
Other EMBM clients entering the draft are Alvin Pasaol, Troy Rike, Santi Santillan, and Franky Johnson.
