Another Blue Eagle is moving to the Lion’s Den.
Logan Baltazar has committed to transfer to San Beda University, he announced on Sunday.
“The coaches and the culture at San Beda really drew me to the program. The knowledge the coaches have, the winning culture, and deep-rooted support system,” he told Tiebreaker Times.
“Hopefully, I can extend that winning culture.”
After playing for NCAA Division III school Whittier College and junior college Cañada College in the United States, the 6-foot-6 forward returned to the Philippines and transferred to Ateneo de Manila University.
However, Baltazar decided to leave Katipunan a month ago.
Now, he gets to learn from another former Blue Eagle, Yuri Escueta.
“Honestly, the amount of knowledge that Coach Yuri and the rest of the staff have is great. Coach Yuri is really relatable and a player’s coach. A lot of the ideologies coming from the program and coaches align with mine. I have a good feeling coming from him,” he expressed.
Baltazar now joins Lebron Nieto and Lars Fjellvang as former Blue Eagles who have moved to the San Beda Red Lions program.
“The main goal for as long as I’m with San Beda is to win championships. Other than that, I want to build a better character in myself,” he said.
“And I think San Beda can help me with that.”
The 22-year-old Baltazar will have to sit out NCAA Season 103 to fulfill his residency requirement.
He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in NCAA Season 104.
