University of Santo Tomas’ top spiker Angge Poyos hurt her right ankle during the second set of Game One of the UAAP Season 86 Women’s Volleyball Finals against National University on Saturday.
With the scoreline at 11-10 in favor of the Golden Tigresses, Alyssa Solomon went for a powerful hit off a combination play to tie the game.
During an attempt to deny Solomon in that play, Poyos landed on teammate Em Banagua’s foot, twisting her right ankle.
Poyos was helped to the bench after the play.
The super rookie out of Bohol was not part of the six players of UST when the third set started.
Poyos led the Tigresses in scoring during the elimination round with 290 points, good for second-most in the league next to University of the East’s Casiey Dongallo with 291.
