Andy Gemao joins UP in Serbia camp

This early, Andy Gemao is starting to acclimate himself to University of the Philippines.

The incoming Grade 11 guard out of Letran High School is currently with the Fighting Maroons for their 17-day training camp in Serbia.

The high-flying 6-foot Squire clad in a maroon ‘Better Basketball’ shirt was with Chicco Briones during an Instagram Live session on Sunday evening.

Gemao, 17, has been watching the preseason games of UP inside the game venues, sparking rumors that he is set to commit there.

The NCAA Season 98 Finals MVP was part of Goldwin Monteverde’s pool during his time at National University Nazareth School.

Gemao is in the class of 2025 (UAAP Season 88). He still plans to play out his senior high year with Letran.

Besides Gemao and Briones, also in Serbia are seniors CJ Cansino and JD Cagulangan.

Completing the UP crew are Francis Lopez, Harold Alarcon, Terrence Fortea, Gerry Abadiano, Cyril Gonzales, Janjan Felicilda, Sean Alter, and Gani Stevens.

Set to fly out on Wednesday are Malick Diouf, Reyland Torres, Luis Pablo, Seven Gagate, Mark Belmonte, Aldous Torculas, and LA Andres.

UAAP Season 87 recruit Jared Bahay could not join the team as he is committed to playing for Region 7 in the Palarong Pambansa.

Chris Hubilla could not make the trip as well as his passport came in late.

In Serbia, UP will be facing club teams.

The Fighting Maroons will also return to Korea after this trip.
