Almazan powers Meralco rally, downs defending champ Magnolia

Meralco fought back from behind to disappoint defending champions Magnolia, 98-92, to start off their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup on a winning note Saturday at SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Raymond Almazan spearheaded the Bolts’ telling 12-0 blitz to finish the game, which lifted them back from a six-point deficit, 86-92, with 4:38 remaining in the payoff period.

Import Allen Durham topbilled for the Orangemen with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists.
