AJ Edu out for one month due to another knee injury

Gilas Pilipinas prospect AJ Edu suffered another setback.

The 6-foot-11 Fil-Cypriot sustained a knee injury during Toledo’s game against Oakland last November 27.

He played 16 minutes in the game before being subbed out.

The 20-year-old has missed the last two games of the Rockets, a 73-76 loss to Xavier and a 70-61 win over Cleveland State.

“We are praying for the recovery of AJ,” said Gilas program director Tab Baldwin.

Edu assured that his injury is not a serious one.

Back in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, Edu tore his ACL during Gilas Youth’s first game.

“I’m doing okay. I’m going to be back stronger,” vowed Edu.

Edu has been averaging 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in the first two games of Toledo’s season.
