While Jose Rizal University prides itself on its defensive efforts, Agem Miranda has consistently commanded the Heavy Bombers’ offense at the beginning of the NCAA Season 99 Seniors Basketball Tournament.
Miranda is currently the league leader in points per game, averaging 20.75 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.25 assists per game, leading the Heavy Bombers to a 3-1 start to the season.
Against Emilio Aguinaldo College, Miranda once again showcased his offensive prowess with 20 points, four rebounds, and five assists, contributing to handing the Generals their first loss of season 99.
According to coach Louie Gonzalez, Miranda still has a lot to improve on before becoming a consistent star. He credits Miranda’s impressive offensive performances to the team’s collective offensive effort, emphasizing that Miranda is not a one-man show.
“Kay Agem right now, it’s the maturity.
“I just need to control him sometimes because he gets out of synch, and alam naman his performance, result yun ng ginagawa ng ibang players. Everyday, even if alam mong marked man na si Agem, he still gets his shots,” said Gonzalez.
Miranda and the Heavy Bombers will face the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA next on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Filoil Ecooil Centre.
