Less than two months after the profanity-laced confrontation with Globalport star Terrence Romeo, Barangay Ginebra’s top guard LA Tenorio is all set to leave it behind.
This comes after the two superstar cagers, who have been teammates on Gilas Pilipinas, crossed paths Sunday night also at the Big Dome, where the Gin Kings reigned victorious, 124-108.
“Magkausap naman kami kanina before the game. Wala naman yun,” shared the 5-foot-9 Tenorio, who erupted for 29 points in the win, as the two were finally able to talk things out. “That’s part of the game. Sabi niya na-frustrate lang siya.
“Sa akin naman, wala naman ng kaso yun.”
Last June 6, Tenorio and Romeo figured in a small scramble. With 3:28 left to play, the two guards were boxing each other out underneath for the rebound, leading to both of them being tangled. Romeo did not seem to like Tenorio’s hard contact and gave out a swinging backfist to the latter’s rib.
The conflict, noticeably, took too long to be settled. Asked why was that so, the 33-year-old shared that it was because of time issues, that Sunday night was the only chance he and the flamboyant combo guard could meet and talk things over.
“Ngayon lang rin kami nagkita, wala namang chance na kami mag-usap [before].”
Furthermore, Tenorio did not let the simple word war taint their relationship, that the respect he has for Romeo will never fade.
“Sabi ko sa kanya may respeto pa rin naman sa kanya, ‘di naman mawawala yun.”
