After clinching semis seat, Mika Reyes yearns for more

PLDT’s Mika Reyes is bracing for a tough challenge come the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference semifinals.

The High Speed Hitters punched their ticket to the six-team playoffs after defeating the eight-woman Cignal HD Spikers in four sets, Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

There, PLDT will take on Creamline, Cignal, Army-Black Mamba, and foreign squads Kobe Shinwa Women’s University and KingWhale Taipei in a single round robin where the top two teams will advance to the gold medal match.2022-PVL-Invitational-PLDT-vs.-Cignal-Mika-Reyes-7162 After clinching semis seat, Mika Reyes yearns for more News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Kailangan namin ayusin yung galaw namin kasi yung kalaban for sure next week mas kumpleto na lahat ng players sa lahat ng team kaya kailangan namin pumukpok talaga kasi mas mahihirapan kami especially next week na lahat gusto manalo,” said Reyes.

“Kung iisipin hindi pa rin talaga tapos and hindi porket nakapasok ng semis malaking bagay na. Invitational to hindi siya last conference na kapag semis dire-diretso na ngayon magra-round robin pa ulit and all,” she added.

Despite reaching one of the team’s goals, Reyes said that the team must still work hard especially after their lackadaisical outing against the short-handed HD Spikers.

“We’re very happy and sino bang hindi magiging masaya for that? Isa pa lang din yan sa mga goal namin. Accomplished yung first goal. Pero kailangan namin magtrabaho pa since hindi talaga ganun kaganda yung nilaro namin kanina,” said Reyes.

The former La Salle star finished with a team-high 14 points built on 12 attacks and two kill blocks in the 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22 win over the HD Spikers. The win helped PLDT finish the elimination round in second place.
