The Philippine Men’s Under-19 National Team ensured that its difficult 2022 AFF U-19 Youth Championship campaign would have a happy ending with a 5-0 win over Brunei Darussalam, Sunday evening, at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium in West Java, Indonesia.
Former De La Salle Zobel standout Andres Aldeguer scored twice in the 42nd and 65th minutes to finally open his account in the tournament.
Midfielder Karl Absalon opened the scoring for coach Christopher Pedimonte’s boys in the 20th minute while substitute Uriel Dalapo and skipper Jaime Rosquillo put the ball at the back of the net in the 71st and 83rd minutes respectively.
The result means that the Filipinos end their Group A campaign in fourth place with 3 points while Brunei failed to tally a point in its five matches.
