AdU vs ADMU (1-2)

It would be the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Paddlers, last years’cellar-dwellers, that would give the Lady Falcons their only win of the first round. It would be a close fought battle that was decided in the 5th and final match-up. Adamson came from behind, 0-2 and rallied behind the doubles pair of Pangantijon and Ricafort, and singles participants Diaño and Quiñtosa. The Lady Falcons went home with a 1-2 slate at the end of the first day.

The second day of eliminations would put the Lady Falcons against last year’s champions University of the Philippines Lady Maroons. The Lady Falcons were outmatched from the get-go losing all   initial matches.

AdU vs UST (1-4)

Much of the same would happen against the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses. The Ermita based squad would fail to record a single set win.

AdU vs NU (1-5)

Adamson still had a chance to leave the first round of eliminations on a good note, if they win against the National University Bulldogs, their last match.

Adamson’s Jarrito would start the match strong, winning both the first 2 sets. She would drop the next two sets, but redeems herself with a 12-10 win on the 5th set. The second match-up would end with a win for NU. The lone doubles match was bagged by the Lady Falcons, behind the tandem of Pangantijon and Ricafort.
