Since their loss against NU to start their season, the ADMU Lady Shuttlers have been posting increasingly dominant performances every game day. They ended last week with a 4 – 1 victory, and now they’ve started this week with a 5 – 0 sweep over their UE counterparts.
Women’s Singles 1: Ma. Bianca Ysabel Carlos (ADMU) def. Kimverly Gatpolintan (UE) 2:0
Ateneo 1 – UE 0
Carlos, who has yet to drop a singles set, started the 1st set on a quick 6 – 2 run. She never let her opponent gain any momentum as Carlos earned the victory, 21 – 9. The 2nd set was an even more amazing performance for Carlos, as she blitzed through her opponent, winning 21 – 4.

ADMU 2 – UE 0
Andres took an early 3 – 1 lead over Lim, but her opponent from Katipunan eventually gathered her composure and overcame the deficit to win, 21 – 17. Lim continued her hot streak during the 2nd set as she posted a huge 13 – 3 lead that gave her a big enough cushion to stave off a UE counterattack. Lim won the 2nd set, 21 – 12.

The pair from UE was able to cut a 5-point deficit down to 2, but 8 consecutive points from Dihiansan flattened any chance of making a comeback. The Ateneo squad won the set, 21 – 7. The 2nd set was a closer affair, but Ateneo was eventually able to pull away and earn the victory, 21 – 12.

As if not wanting to give UE any hope of victory, De Vera began the 1st set with 3 consecutive points all on her own. De Vera eventually went on an even bigger run with 7 straight points that gave her team a big enough padding to keep UE at bay. Ateneo won the first set, 21 – 11. The 2nd set was not any better for the UE squad, as 5 consecutive points from Carlos sealed the deal for any hope of a UE victory. Ateneo won the 2nd set, 21 – 11.
