Mercy rule #11
The Adamson Lady Falcons continue to outwork and outclass the competition with another romping of the competition. This time the defending champions soundly defeated the UE Lady Warriors 10-2 in the fifth inning eliminating UE from contention.
At the bottom of the first with the Lady Falcons up one, Angelie Ursabia slammed a three-run home run to extend the lead to 4-0. Another home run by slugger Queeny Sabobo churned in the another three-run home run to go up 8-0 by the end of the second inning.
Annalie Benjamen was still superb on the mound in the game, during the first three innings she pitched in shutting out the UE Lady Warriors. However on the fourth inning, Elvie Senangote was able to connect on a two-run home run to place UE in the scoreboard. Those were the only runs the Lady Warriors were able to score in the game. Another run by Adamson at the bottom of the fourth sealed the fate of the UE Lady Warriors 10-2.
After the game, we were able to speak with the reigning MVP Annalie Benjamen. Benjamen told us that even at this stage in the game, anyone is still dangerous. “Kelangan pa rin naman mag train ng mag train. Halos lahat threat pa rin kasi at kung ano ang hirap namin sa training, sila ganun din.”
The Adamson Lady Falcons open the last day of the elimination round against the National University Lady Bulldogs at 9am on Wednesday, March 10 while the UE Lady Warriors will try to spoil the UST Softbelles’ run also on Wednesday at 12nn. Both games will still be played at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
