Coming off a second place finish in the UAAP Season 85 Boys’ Basketball Tournament, Adamson High School has decided to beef up its roster.
Six-foot-eight Filipino-Kiwi big man Jireh Tumaneng has committed to take his senior high school year with Adamson.
Tumaneng will be a transferee from Westlake Boys High School in Auckland.
The 16-year-old also played for Pinoy Mavs-NZ in the Smart-NBTC National Finals, averaging 13.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 33 minutes of play.
“Siyempre excited and masaya kasi hindi mas lalaki pa lineup namin,” said Baby Falcons head coach Mike Fermin, also thanking coach Manu Hoque.
“Ngayon may legit 6-foot-8 at 6-foot-7 guys na kami.”
Tumaneng will join Grade 12 big man Carlo Bonzalida and 6-foot-7 project Allen Perez in Adamson’s frontline for Season 86.
Meanwhile, Soaring Falcons head coach Nash Racela is hoping that Tumaneng will remain with Adamson after his graduation in 2026.
“Siyempre, I hope he chooses us. But we will also let him join our practices sa seniors para he can easily bond with his kuyas,” said Racela.
