4x World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion to visit Manila

Great news for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and fans alike as one of the top black belts in the world, Guilherme Mendes, is coming to the Philippines to hold a seminar.

Hailing from the small city of Rio Claro, Brazil, Guilherme and his brother Rafael became one of the most iconic Brazilian jiu-jitsu athletes as they won most tournaments they have entered in since they were blue belts in BJJ. This year Guilherme won his 4th black belt world title which would include him in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s Hall of Fame. Guilherme is currently ranked #1 in the Adult male black belt light feather weight, and 14th amongst the best in the sport.

As instructors, the Mendes brothers run the very successful Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Costa Mesa, California. They have produced multiple world champions from varying age groups, kids and adults alike.

He will be sharing his talents on a 2 day seminar organized by Atos Philippines headed by Prof. Ali Sulit and Prof. Ralph Go on August 16 and 17, 2014 at the Blue Eagle Gym in Ateneo de Manila University. The seminar is open to all practitioners of grappling, regardless of affiliation, age or rank. To register, visit The Superfoods Grocer registration page here.
