Petron rolls to fifth straight at Cignal HD’s expense


The Petron Blaze Spikers stayed undefeated in the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Cup, making quick work of the Cignal HD Spikers, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19, at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Ces Molina topped the Blaze Spikers with 15 points, while middle blocker Mika Reyes added 11. In a clean match where both teams combined for 27 total errors, Petron overwhelmed Cignal with a 45-31 spikes advantage.

Petron head coach Shaq Delos Santos attributed their strong performance to his team’s focus.

“Siguro sobrang focused lang ng players namin. Alam nila na lahat ng games at mga kalaban importante,” said Delos Santos. “Kailangan consistent kami in every game and maganda ‘yung pinakita namin in regards doon.”

Mylene Paat led the HD Spikers with 13 points, while Rachel Daquis added 10 markers.

Petron (5-0) will face the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors (0-5) at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Tuesday. Cignal (3-3) take on the Smart Giga Hitters (2-2) also on Tuesday.
