Allyn Bulanadi, Che’lu-San Sebastian torch slumping JRU

Allyn Bulanadi caught fire and drained six threes to anchor the Che’Lu-San Sebastian Revellers in a 74-67 conquest of the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, Thursday afternoon at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Catching fire in the third quarter, the swingman fired 11 of his 26 points in the frame as the Revellers slowly erected their lead and reached their peak at 16, 66-50, midway in the payoff period.

The Heavy Bombers tried to mount a late rally, but fell flat, as the uprising only got them within five, 66-61, before Samboy de Leon doused that comeback with a killer three in the last 2:03.

Jeepy Faundo added 13 markers and nine boards. Michael Calisaan got nine points, eight rebounds, and three blocks as Che’Lu-San Sebastian leveled their standing at 3-3.

“Talagang big relief ito,” said coach Stevenson Tiu. “Kung matalo kami dito, I don’t think we have a chance sa quarters.”

Jeckster Apinan topscored for the skidding JRU (1-3) with 14 points and eight rebounds, as they succumbed to their third straight loss.
