The 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour fires off on Saturday, featuring the Manila Masters at the Robinsons Place Manila, which is the first of six Masters events this year.
Winners of each of the six legs qualify for the World Tour final in Abu Dhabi later this year.
Three squads will represent the Philippines in the Manila Masters. Manila West, winners of last year’s staging, is the highest-seeded PH team (4). Terrence Romeo, KG Canaleta, Aldrech Ramos, and Rey Guevarra banner the team.
Manila North is composed of Karl Dehesa, Calvin Abueva, Vic Manuel, and Troy Rosario while Manila South, winners of the Philippine 3×3 qualifiers, is represented by Lucky Encarma, Jair Igna, Carlo Ortega, Joshua Sinclair.
Manila West and Manila South are bracketed in Pool D along with New Zealand’s Auckland.
Manila North is in Pool B with Ljubljana of Slovenia and Beirut of Lebanon.
In Pool A are China’s Longshi, Indonesia’s Medan, and UAE’s Novi Sad Al-Wahda which is the top-seeded group. Novi Sad is bannered by Serbians Domovic Bulut and Dejan Majstorovic who are ranked no. 1 and 2 respectively in 3×3 player rankings.
In Pool C are Doha of Qatar, Kobe of Japan, and Kaohsiung of Chinese-Taipei.
The top two teams in each of the four pools advance to the quarter-finals on Sunday.
