13 players attend second training under Shaq Delos Santos

Due to several commitments, only 13 players attended the second practice under newly-named Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team head coach Shaq Delos Santos.

The team is preparing for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.

Jaja Santiago, Rhea Dimaculangan, CJ Rosario, Maika Ortiz, Aby Maraño, Denden Lazaro, Rebecca Rivera, Mika Reyes, Ces Molina, and Mylene Paat all participated in the drills.

Creamline teammates Alyssa Valdez and Jia Morado were resting injuries and had to sit out. Valdez is nursing a swollen right ankle while Morado was out due to tendonitis in her right shoulder which needs to rest for a week.

Myla Pablo showed up but left early as she had training with Pocari Sweat.

Former DLSU Lady Spikers in the pool – Majoy Baron, Dawn Macandili and Kianna Dy – were all at the US embassy handling their papers.

UST head coach and PWNVT assistant coach Kungfu Reyes also confirmed that Sisi Rondina will not be participating with the National Team this year since the UAAP Season 81 Beach Volleyball tournament falls close to the Asian Games.

Delos Santos now needs to name a pool of 18 to 20 players to submit to the Philippine Sports Commission on or before June 10 for the Asian Games in August.
