For the past few months, Bounty Agro Ventures Inc. president Ronald Mascariñas has been hinting at entering the world of Philippine volleyball saying, “We have been exploring of entering other sports, including volleyball.”
Many thought that Bounty will bankroll a club team. But in a surprise, Mascariñas went a different route as Chooks-to-Go will be the official partner of the 2017 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix.
The tournament is set to begin on Saturday, October 21.
“The Grand Prix is the crown jewel of the PSL. With nine teams and each squad allowed to field in three imports, this is definitely the biggest local club tournament the country will ever see,” shared the President of BAVI, who is also one of the main backers of Gilas Pilipinas and triathlete Nikko Huelgas.
And with the partnership between Chooks-to-Go and PSL, the sports patron is hoping that this will just be the start of this new endeavor for BAVI.
“We at Chooks-to-Go are more than happy to join the PSL for this tournament,” Mascariñas expressed.
“Hopefully, this is just the beginning and maybe, in the future, we could finally get the ball rolling with regards to putting up a club team.”
The Chooks-to-Go Philippine SuperLiga Grand Prix will air at 4:00pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting on October 21. All games will be LIVE on ESPN5! Tickets are available at the FilOil Flying V Center.
