Lyceum star Joseph Gabayni hurt in motorcycle accident

Another NCAA star was hurt after a freak road accident.

Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirate Joseph Gabayni figured in a motorcycle accident last weekend that will cause him to miss his team’s final game of the preseason.

The 22 year old big man posted on his Facebook account a picture of himself bandaged and bruised Monday afternoon. Lyceum head coach Topex Robinson confirmed the news in an SMS message.

Gabayni sustained facial lacerations and is still waiting for MRI results. Robinson is not sure when the big man can return to his team. “As of now we are not really sure for how long eh,” Robinson said. “What’s important now is him getting better.”

Gabayni will miss his team’s game on Thursday, June 2 against the De La Salle University Green Archers at 3:15pm. This will be Lyceum’s last game for the 2016 Filoil Flying V Premier Cup.

A week ago, San Sebastian Golden Stag Michael Calisaan was the victim of the same circumstance in his hometown of Sta. Rita, Pampanga.
