In a game that lasted for four hours and 30 minutes, the UST Golden Sox managed to hold to an early lead to defeat the Adamson Falcons 12-10 last Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The 1st inning saw runs from both squads with UST trailing the Soaring Falcons 2-1. Two runs at the bottom of 1st by Manuel Navasero and Gerald Riparid gave Adamson their only lead for the ballgame.

UST further extended the lead at the 5th with another 4-run inning with another run by Plaza, Martinez, Mercado, and Kimferlee Lopez. The top of the 5th inning had the Golden Sox gain a huge 11-3 lead.

Then in the 6th inning, another run by Villafana and a run by Eric Gemundo cut the lead to just 2 runs.

It was a pitching struggle for the Adamson Falcons. Bad showings by Adamson starting pitcher Raymond Matic and reliever Jerome Yenson as they batted against 21 UST batters in the 4 innings they pitched. Lourence Ruiz, another pitching reliever for Adamson, gave up 4 runs in the one inning he pitched. The 4th pitcher for Adamson, Melvin Rosita, gave up only 1 run, in the 7th, 2 hits, and struck-out 4 UST batters but proved to be too late.
