UP Lady Jins team captain Nicoele Sibug during the early part of her bout against Crystal Faith Hukom. Sibug held an early 4-0 lead over Hukom before an accident occurred with Sibug dislocating her finger. The referee had to stop the contest and call the medics to check on Sibug. Coach Dap Dagdagan accompanied Sibug to the back. Looking to inspire her team, co-captain Charizza Alombro played with fury against Angela Kim Loren. Alombro would make short work Loren gaining a 14-1 win to win via stoppage to point gap. UP’s Stephanie Osio and NU’s Shiryl Badol kept their perfect records with wins over Rheza Aragon and Kristine Lozada respectively. With NU down 3-2, by virtue of missing a player, Rhezie Aragon needed to win her lightweight match-up against Janin Marcaida. Marcaida, however, would outclass Aragon in a 15-3 2nd round stoppage victory by point gap to give UP another win.
