With season on the line, Ola Adeogun fires up Red Lions again

San Beda foreign student0athlete Ola Adeogun was all business during a crucial affair which merited the Red Lions a 77-73 win over the Letran Knights which enabled them to clinch a spot in the Final Four and a twice-to-beat edge.

It has been a roller-coaster season for the veteran big man, who sometimes lets the situation get into his head during games. But against a rambunctious atmosphere inside the San Juan Arena, Adeogun once again proved why he is one of the finest bigs in college basketball.

“We wanted to win because our season was on the line. If we lost we will go to the bottom and [with that goal] everyone responded,” Adeogun said.

“Throughout the season our problem has been complacency. We win one game and we lay low. Now our season is on the line and everyone came to play.”

“Everybody came from a loss and masakit talaga. Who wants to lose? So we were all business today,” he added.

Adeogun also shared he does not mind hearing it from the opposing crowd. As someone who has been in the league for so long, Adeogun had learned how to let go and focus on his game.

“We play for the fans and the opposing fans, they will do anything to distract you. That’s their job and ako, I just play lang. I’ve been here for a long time na so sanay na ako sa ganyan,” he said.

“At the end of the day you want to win, and kapag nanalo ka masaya ka. If we lose that game we might not even make it to the playoffs.”
