Manila North challenges rest of the world in 3×3 World Tour final


The Manila North team, led by Calvin Abueva, will test the mettle of 11 other teams from around the world when the 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour final fires off in Abu Dhabi, UAE on October 15.

Joining Abueva are Karl Dehesa and Troy Rosario, while the team is still looking to replace the injured Vic Manuel.

The World Tour final is the culmination of the six Masters legs of the 3×3 World Tour this 2015. The event will feature the top finishers in each of the six Masters events (Manila, Prague, Beijing, Lausanne, Mexico DF, Rio de Janeiro).

Manila North is in Pool D with Prague winners Kranj of Slovenia and Beijing winners Doha of Qatar.

In Pool B are Beijing runner-up Ljubljana of Slovenia, Rio de Janeiro runner-up Santos of Brazil, and Mexico DF winners Denver of USA. In Pool C are Lausanne runner-up Trbovlje of Slovenia Prague runner-up, Kolobrzeg of Poland and Mexico DF runner-up NY Harlem of USA.

Defending World Tour final winners Novi Sad Al Wahda is in Pool A along with Lausanne winners Vilnius of Lithuania and Rio of Brazil.

In addition, they are the reigning 3×3 All Stars winners and are led by Dusan Domovic Bulut and Dejan Majstorovic, the two best 3×3 players when it comes to individual rankings.

The top two teams per Pool advance to the knockout quarter-finals. The champion team will take home $30,000 and will be guaranteed a spot in the 2015 3×3 All Stars in Doha on December 11.
