Lightning quick: NU wrecks UE in lopsided affair


Needing less an than hour to settle their affairs, the NU Bulldogs totally overpowered the UE Red Warriors via sweep, 25-12, 25-17, 25-20, Sunday morning at the San Juan Arena.

Edwin Tolentino paced the Bulldogs with 15 points while Reuben Inaudito added 11 points and 4 blocks.

For UE, Edward Camposano was the only player in double figures as he chalked up 14 points and 3 blocks while Sam Lelic had 4 points.

The Bulldogs, totally owning UE in all categories, had a whopping 41 attack points in the game compared to their opponent’s 29 attack points. The defending champions posted a 9-4 advantage in blocking and also had a 24-7 advantage in excellent sets.

The Bulldogs’ next assignment will be against the Adamson Falcons next Saturday, February 21, while UE hopes to get a win against FEU on February 22 with both games held at the San Juan Arena.
