Lady Spikers make short work of UE for sixth win

With team captain Ara Galang celebrating her brithday, the DLSU Lady Spikers dismantled the UE Lady Warriors, 25-6, 25-16, 25-11 at the San Juan Arena.

Like a firecracker tearing through the street on New Year’s Eve, the Lady Spikers went through the UE Lady Warriors in the first set. La Salle put on a clinic as they limited UE to only six first set points.

The Lady Warriors showed a semblance of resistance in the second set as they were able to battle DLSU to a 4-4 tie but the Lady Spikers were able to turn the jets on again and breezed past UE with a balanced scoring attack.

La Salle kept their foot on the gas in the third set as they zoomed past the Lady Warriors handily.

Ara Galang and Mika Reyes shared game-high scoring honors with 10 apiece while UE’s Judith Abil was awarded top scorer for her team with only four markers.

The scores:

DLSU- Galang 10, Reyes 10, Cheng 8, Demecillo 8, Fajardo 6, Dy 6, Soyud 4, Baron 1, Macadili (L) 0, Cruz Ci. (L) 0

UE- Abil 4, Juanillo 3, Adorador 3, Olavre 2, Baliton 2, Dawis 1, Alcayde 1, Arado (L) 0.
