Lady Bulldogs dominate Lady Tamaraws in second half to keep streak alive


After trailing 16-20 entering the second half of the ballgame, The National University Lady Bulldogs went on to score 40 points in the final two quarters to secure a 56-40 win over the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, their fifth consecutive victory in the Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Tamaraws to a dismal four points in the third quarter, while scoring 19 points, three points more than their entire first half output. Leading by a commanding 35-24 heading into the final period, the Lady Bulldogs would only continue to extend their lead, despite the Lady Tamaraws beginning to fire back.

Kristine Abriam had 16 points to lead NU, while Afril Bernardo had 12 markers, 10 rebounds, and 2 steals. Claire Castro had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks for FEU,

The Lady Bulldogs are currently undefeated at 5-0, a slate they share with the De La Salle University Lady Archers. The Lady Tams meanwhile fall to 2-3.
