DLSU Lady Spikers stop UST sweep to fight another day

Under the stinging rays of the noon sun, Kim Fajardo and Cyd Demecillo finally figured out the devastating Thomasinas and forced a third game in the Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament, 16-21, 22-20, 18-16.

The Thomasian pair of Cherry Rondina and Rica Rivera displayed their championship form in he first set, easily outplaying the Lady Spikers in crucial points.

But, unlike Superman, the Thomasians just couldn’t find their strength under the sun, instead wilting under its extreme heat. La Salle took advantage of UST’s sudden vulnerability and capitalized on every UST misreception and error and were able to take the last two sets by the skin of their teeth. UST had several championship points in the third set but squandered both of them due to errors.

La Salle needs to win the last two games of the series to take the title to Taft while Rondina and Rivera only need one for UST.
