Daquis, Army annihilate Fourbees for first win in the SVL

They were so good, they had to stretch right after the match just to break a sweat.

Behind Rachel Ann Daquis’ game-high 16 points, the Army Troopers breezed past Fourbees-Perpetual in three sets 25-8, 25-10, 25-11 at the San Juan Arena.

Even with Jovelyn Gonzaga nursing an injury and unable to warmup, Army stifled Perpetual to just 29 total points and 12 points off attacks as Army sizzled for 47 attacks of their own. Army was able to field all available players while none of Perpetual’s players scored more than four points.

When asked about the impending Santiago Sisters faceoff, De Guzman played the matchup up.

The Army-PLDT tilt will be on April 12 while Fourbees will play Coast Guard on Thursday.
