The much awaited Coca-Cola International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), released an exciting new promo video featuring the biggest names in tennis, giving fans a peek of what’s in store come December 2015, whilst reliving some of the most iconic moments from the inaugural edition that saw the Indian Aces lift the glitzy trophy.
The promo video captures the palpable excitement of players as they talk about the unique features of the IPTL – the quick-paced format of the game and the team-based rivalry. Set to a racy pace, the video opens with a warning from Maria Sharapova that says “This is no regular game of tennis” with Rafa joining in to say “this is a whole new ball game.”
The one-minute video features some of the biggest names that will set the courts on fire in less than two months from now – Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Leander Paes, Kei Nishikori, Nick Krygios, Agnieszka Radwanska, Belinda Bencic, Daniela Hantuchova, Gael Monfils, Tomas Berdych, Ana Ivanovic, Goran Ivanisevic, Daniel Nestor along with Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna.
Since its online launch, the video has reached more than 450,000 people, garnering views in excess of 125,000 across various social media platforms. More than 5,000 people have commented and shared the video on Facebook with fans commenting from across the world.
The multi-country team-based competitive tennis league will see the five teams – Indian Aces, Japan Warriors, Philippine Mavericks, Singapore Slammers, and UAE Royals compete against each other for the prize money of USD 1.5 million, beginning 2nd December 2015 in Kobe with the grand finale playing out on 20th December 2015 in Singapore.
