The National University Lady Bulldogs kept their hopes for a final four berth alive after routing the struggling Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles in two sets, 21-15, and 21-15.
NUās Santiago and General dominated both sets, owning the pace and forcing Ateneo spikers Maraguinot and Morante to constant errors to win point after point. The Ateneans would be able to find their touch every now and then, getting their spikes to penetrate the blockade set up by NUās towering spikers. However, unable to mount enough firepower, the Lady Eagles would be unable to bounce back in the second set, giving NU the victory.
